Nickel exploration by neutron capture gamma rays

Studies have been made of the application of the neutron capture gamma ray technique both as a detection and as an analytical tool for nickel. Analysis down to 0.1 percent nickel generally compares well with the chemical analysis. Measurements using the technique as a detection method were made on an artificially prepared surface deposit of low grade ( approximately 1%) nickel ore and also in a test borehole in the same ore. Nickel was easily detected in both cases.
