LLL lattice reduction-based detection of joint VBLAST and SFBC in MIMO/OFDM systems

We propose a VBLAST and space-frequency block codes (SFBC) joint transmit scheme to exploit both multiplexing and diversity gain in MIMO/OFDM systems. LLL (Lenstra-Lenstra-Lova/spl acute/sz) lattice reduction (Lenstra, A.K. et al., 1982) is applied before the signal detection to improve the bit error rate (BER) performance. Computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme significantly exploits diversity gain while a high data rate is obtained. At the same time, the simulation results confirm that the BER performance is improved obviously when LLL lattice reduction is applied to the channel matrix.
