Wideband notched compact UWB antenna

In this paper, a novel wideband frequency notched compact UWB antenna is designed to satisfy two licensed UWB frequency bands (3.1∼4.8 GHz, 7.1∼10.6 GHz). The notched wide bandwidth (4.8∼7.1 GHz) can be realized by inserting a pair of the inverted-L shaped slits in the fan-type arms of the coupled sectorial loop antenna(CSLA) and optimizing the positions and the length of the L-shaped slits to avoid the interferences with WLAN, GPS and so on. The performances of the designed UWB antenna are evaluated to inspect the fitness for the UWB communication services in the frequency and the time domain.
