Knowledge Representation and Reuse in Aircraft Design

Design history is helpful in aircraft structure design. Reasonably organizing and reusing design knowledge may contribute to aircraft design tasks. The paper studies the representation and reuse of aircraft design knowledge, and presents a case-based knowledge reuse method in structure design of aircraft components. Our method constructs the case representation by organizing the geometric and non-geometric features of parts, and adopts the similarity-based retrieving in case retrieval algorithm. A certain kind of parts on aircraft wing assembly is used as example to examine the algorithm.
