Optical equalisation of dispersion-induced distortion in subcarrier systems using tapered linearly chirped gratings

Tapered linearly chirped fibre gratings are used to equalise dispersion-induced distortion which limits the performance of microwave band subcarrier systems. The results show that both harmonic and intermodulation distortions are significantly reduced in a bandwidth of several gigahertzs.
