Co-Kriging Assisted PSO Algorithm and Its Application to Optimal Transposition Design of Power Transformer Windings for the Reduction of Circulating Current Loss

An optimal transposition of power transformer windings is proposed to minimize the circulating current loss by incorporating co-Kriging into a binary version of particle swarm optimization. The co-Kriging takes most samplings from less accurate but cheap data, while taking only some from accurate but expensive data to increase its fitting accuracy and to reduce the computing cost at the same time. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated through an analytical example, and applied to an optimal transposition design of a power transformer to minimize the circulating current loss.
