Behavior Analysis and Simulation Modeling of Congested Traffic Flow

Traffic is a complicated system which is made of persons,vehicles and roads.Especially,the vehicles' interactions are more complicated under congested traffic flow.Aimed to the deficiency of neglecting the analysis of congested traffic(flow) in the existing microscopic traffic simulation,this paper starts with analyzing the traffic behavior characteristics of(congested) traffic flow,then,presents a microscopic simulation model under congested conditions.In the car-following(sub-model) of the proposed model,it adds a random error component of the acceleration.In the lane-changing(sub-model,) it adds the decelerating behavior when the lead or lag gap is not enough.Compared with the conventional models,the(proposed) model can reflect the characteristics of traffic behavior under congested traffic conditions more effectively,and can be more appropriate for microscopic simulation under congested traffic conditions.
