Fieldbus Technology and Its Application

Field-bus is a kind of serial link for data communication, or a kind of communication network for connecting intelligent field-bus equipments with automatic system. Its features are that the signal transfer is wholly digital, the control function is completely distributed, and it is an open system with unified standard. There are five types of the influential field-bus, such as FF field-bus, LonWorks field-bus, PROFIBUS field-bus, CAN field-bus and HART protocol. The two configuration of control node in LonWorks field-bus and the applications of LonWorks field-bus in Railway Signal Control System and Building Automation System, and the development trend of the field-bus technology are introduced in this paper.
