The invention relates to an overhead gas cylinder structure for a bus. A gas cylinder is disposed at the top of the bus. The top of the bus is double-layered and comprises a first top framework and a second top framework. The gas cylinder is fixed on the second top framework. A recess is for containing the gas cylinder is formed in the second top framework. By the double-layered framework on the top of the bus, the gas cylinder is disposed on the second framework in a sunk manner, and accordingly height of the whole bus is unchanged, height space of the whole bus is not occupied, step height needs not to be increased, and taking-on and taking-off of the bus for passengers are facilitated.
