INAA and ATEM study of geogas materials from concealed faults

The geogas prospecting technique consists of collecting geogas materials from ascending gas flows and determining their concentrations of trace metal and non-metal elements. The geogas materials thus collected are made of particles whose size ranges from a few nm to a few tens of nm. These particles can aggregate into larger particles (crystalline or non crystalline aggregates, or else single crystals), with a size up to several μm or even more. The bulk geogas materials may be analyzed using INAA and the individual particles using ATEM. Anomalous elements and microelements have been found to be present in concealed non-mineralized faults.
