Maximum Power Point Tracking in Photovoltaic System by Using Fuzzy Algorithm

Photovoltaic cell is a kind of DC current power with non-linear characteristic, and its output power varies with module temperature, solar isolation and loads. With the disadvantage of high cost, low transfer efficiency, it’s necessary to track the MPP of the PV array all the time in order to improve the system efficiency. According to the mechanism and control adaptive MPPT method based on fuzzy control which includes automatic parameter tuning and directly uses the DC/DC converter duty cycle as a control parameter is presented and is verified by Matlab/Simulink software. Experimental results show that the system can track the maximum power point exactly and quickly.
