Study on modeling method for cylindrical Index cam based on Pro/E relations

Aimed at the space motion characteristics of different types cylindrical cam,relative movement between roller and cam during engagement process was set up,and some modeling methods for cylindrical cam were studied by using Pro/E relations,"Variable section sweep"tool was applied to modeling for cylindrical cam with translating follower,and"equation"tool was used to modeling for oscillating follower cylindrical cam.Theoretical profiles were built up on the blank model of cylindrical cam and working profiles were obtained by normal thickening of the theoretical profiles and solid cutting operation.Therefore,the accurate models of cylindrical cam were finished,which modeling process is simple and concise.High-efficiency is realized by the parameterized design and seriate design of the cylindrical cams with the parameter as expression during modeling.
