Implantable Telemetry in Biomedical Research

Animal models of human physiology, pathology, and pharmacology are indispensable tools in biomedical research. Totally implantable radiotelemetry systems provide an invaluable appendage to animal models because these systems are a means for acquisition of otherwise unavailable experimental data. Implantable systems for measurement of velocity, volume flow, dimension, pressure, strain, bioelectric potential, temperature, and pH in selected applications are discussed.
