A space-time receiver structure is presented for the multicarrier direct sequence code division access (MC-DS-CDMA) system at the base station and its performance is analyzed. Over each carrier, a beam former is designed followed by a conventional RAKE receiver. For performance evaluation, such a receiver is compared to the case that only one single antenna is employed. Simulation results show that multipath interference and multi-user interference can be effectively suppressed in the MC-DS-CDMA system employing an antenna array thus system capacity can be increased greatly.
