Long-delay Networked Control System Design Based on Observers

Considering the networked control systems (NCS) with time-vary long delays,a design method of feedback controller and observer with delay compensation is discussed. An open-loop observer and a close-loop observer are proposed to predict the current states of plant based on the conditions of data arrival, and the controller's inputs are switched between the state of the open-loop observer and the close-loop observer. In this scheme, the NCS is modeled as a switched system and a co-design method of the observer and controller is given in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs).Finally,an example is given to validate that the method can obtain better performance than those without delay compensation.
