Investigation of a Fresnel lens concentrator photovoltaic module

The use of a high-efficiency space concentrator photovoltaic (PV) modules requires a development of the testing methods and measuring equipment for their laboratory inspection. In this case it is necessary to take into account the specific behaviour of module elements under operating conditions as well as interaction between optical and electrogenerating parts. 1. The aim of this work is to develop the laboratory (indoor) testing procedure for concentrator PV modules and to predict their characteristics under space flight experiment conditions. 2. The practical design and current status of component and prototype Fresnel lens concentrator PV module is described. 3. The laboratory test results for PV module are compared with those obtained in preliminary terrestrial (outdoor) experiments.
