DataCollection forInvestigating Speech Variability in A SpecificSpeaker Over Long and ShortTime

Inthis paper, wedescribe aJapanese speech corpuscollected forinvestigating thespeech variability ofaspecific speaker overshort andlongtimeperiods. Although speakers useaspeaker-dependent speech recog- nition system, itisknownthatspeech recognition per- formance varies pending whentheutterance wasuttered. Thisisbecause speech varies evenifthespeaker utters a specific sentence. However, therelationship between intra-speaker speech variability andspeech recognition performance isnotclear. We havenotseenacorpus of Japanese speech dataofaspecific speaker overalong time period. Hence, since 2002, wehavebeencollecting speech dataforinvestigating therelationships between speech variability andspeech recognition performance. Inthis paper, weintroduce ourspeech corpus andconduct speech recognition experiments. Experimental results showthat thevariability ofrecognition performance overdifferent daysislarger thanvariability ofrecognition performance within aday.
