Low-profile directional UWB antenna on chip packaging

A compact ultrawideband (UWB) antenna is proposed in this paper. For compactness reasons, the antenna is studied in order to be integrated on a chip packaging. In addition, a special attention has been given to design an antenna with unidirectional radiation patterns. This antenna provides broadband characteristics and unidirectional radiation patterns over the whole 7.4-8.4 GHz frequency band.
