A 4th-order switched-capacitor sigma-delta A/D converter using a high-ripple Chebyshev loop filter

A compact low-power audio sigma-delta A/D converter is presented. By using a high-ripple Chebyshev loop filter the output swing of the integrators is reduced, which decreases power consumption and chip area. Measurements on the implementation show a peak SNDR of 91 dB and a dynamic range of 102 dB over a signal bandwidth of 11 kHz. The power consumption of the sigma-delta loop is 1.5 mW at a supply voltage of 2.5 V.
