Numerical Analysis of Flow Characteristics Within the Main Stop and Governing Valve of a 600 MW Steam Turbine

A numerical simulation of flow characteristics within the main stop and governing valve of a 600MW steam turbine under 100% opening condition is employed.The total pressure loss and the pressure loss distribution along flow path are presented.The assignment of mass flow between two controlling valves is given.Flow characteristics and pressure loss mechanism of the valve is discussed.The article provides the reference for further research of flow field and structural development in the main stop and governing combination valve.
