The invention relates to a self-operated air compressor, belongs to the technical field of air compressors, and aims to provide a self-operated air compressor which finishes gas compression by releasing and converting energy of high pressure gas when the high pressure gas is subjected to pressure relief without using external energy. According to the technical scheme, an air inlet and an air outlet are formed on the cylindrical surface of a shell; step through holes which are non-concentric with the shell are formed in the two end faces of the shell; disks are sleeved in the two step through holes; the two ends of a rotating shaft of a sliding sheet rotor in the shell are arranged on the two disks through bearings and stretch out of the shell; the sliding sheet rotor is non-concentric with the disks; one end of a first eccentric control rod, one end of a second eccentric control rod and one end of a spring push rod are hinged to the edge position of the outer end face of one disk, and the other ends of the first eccentric control rod, the second eccentric control rod and the spring push rod are hinged to a base; and one end of the rotating shaft of the sliding sheet rotor is connected with a flywheel, and the other end of the rotating shaft of the sliding sheet rotor is connected with a volute spring. The air compressor is used for recycling energy released to outside when the high pressure gas is discharged or subjected to pressure relief.
