CSI Based Multiple Relay Selection and Transmit Power Saving Scheme for Underlay CRNs Using FRBS and Swarm Intelligence

Inthisarticle,amultiplerelayselection(MRS)schemeforsignal-to-noiseratio(SNR)enhancement is proposed for underlay relay-assisted cognitive radio networks (RCRNs). A secondary sourcedestinationpairexperiencingdeepfadingondirectpathisassistedbyamplify-and-forward(AF) relaysinanunderlaymode.Inthisenergy-constrainedscenario,theaimistomaximizethesecondary network’s end-to-endSNR through an intelligent power-savingmethod incorporatedwith MRS. Incontrasttothepriorrelayselection(RS)schemes,therelay-selectionfactoristhedifferenceof SNRofthesource-relaylinkandcorrespondingrelay-destinationlinkforeachrelayalongwithits correspondinginterferencechannelcoefficient.ThedifferencefactoraimstoachievetheSNRupper boundwhileperformingminimumpoweramplification,eventuallyresultingininterferencemitigation aswell.TheproposedalgorithmhasbeenimplementedusingFuzzyRuleBasedSystem(FRBS), ArtificialBeeColony(ABC)andParticleSwarmOptimization(PSO)andtheirperformancehas beencomparedthroughsimulations.
