The Hydrology and Plankton of the River Sokoto

During the course of work on fish populations in the River Sokoto and its surrounding flood plain it was decided to investigate the hydrology of the river and seasonal abundance of plankton because it was considered that a knowledge of these would permit a better understanding of the populations and life cycles of the fish. The field work on which this paper is based was carried out by one author (M. J. H.) who is responsible for the part of the paper dealing with the collection of data, the physical climate, hydrology and phytoplankton. The second author (J. G.) Long. E 5? 100 14' so at. -KANO
