Research on Temperature Rise Calculation of the Large Synchronous Condenser in UHVDC System

To improve the ability of reactive power support at Ultra High Voltage Direct Current (UHVDC) project sending and receiving terminals, State Grid Corporation will install large dual internal water cooled synchronous condensers which gives high requirements in transient and dynamic characteristics. This paper discusses the design of ventilation cooling system and loss of coil. This paper calculates temperature rise of the stator and rotor.
