The use of actuator devices using conventional smart materials is currently limited for compact medical injection system due to major reasons the need of power supply and the large working space of batteries. In this study, we propose compact self-activated actuators for portable injection applications without power to surpass the limit of conventional approaches. The proposed actuator SelPA(Self-Powered Actuator) is entirely new approach for medical injection device. Its design is based on the concept of active system with second order phase transition of ferromagnetic materials operating in temperature difference field. The focus of this study is to determine the design and robust manufacturing feasibility of SelPA concept for compact injection system, including experimental characterization of prototype fabricated.
