Hérnia peritoneopericárdica em cão

A male, five years old mongrel dog weighting 23kg, was refered presenting periodic digestive disturbs and dispnoea. A descompensated peritoneopericardical hernia was diagnosticated and a voluminous content (distended stomach, two liver lobes, partial spleen and a segment of the duodenum with pancreas) was reduced. The diaphragm and pericardium were sutured simultaneously with poliglactin 910. The animal had a complete postoperative recovery without complications.
