can hardly be exaggerated. Produced by a Royal Society of Health Committee of experts representing important firms and organizations concerned with the construction, maintenance and operation of temperature-controlled food transport it gives invaluable advice based on long experience. The book is divided into five main sections: The Requirements of the User, The Hygienic Requirements; Manufacturing and Performance Standards; The Testing of Temperature-Controlled Vehicles; Personnel. There are appendices on a suggested test procedure for insulation performance tests, and a suggested form of test report. This Code has no statutory force. It is intended to give advice and guidance. It indicates hygienic requirements and desirable methods of construction and maintenance of temperature-controlled vehicles and containers used in Britain for the transportation of food by road, rail, sea and air. The observance and practise of its recommendations should ensure that food transported in this type of vehicle reaches retailer and consumer in good condition.
