Stability of a predator-prey model with harvesting

Abstract The stability of a predator-prey system, involving the Michaelis-Menten form for the functional response of the predator, under harvesting is investigated. The nature of the domain of attraction as the yield is systematically changed is shown and the stability at maximum sustainable yield is clearly established. Sensitivity of the stability regions to changes in the parameters of the model are considered. A method for determining the period and the ratio of the amplitudes of predator and prey populations for nearly elliptic limit cycles is given.
