변동마찰형 TMD를 이용한 초장주기 구조물의 진동제어

Tuned mass damper has been used to enhance the wind performance of a structure by reducing the wind induced vibration, and recently applied to the super long period structures such as high rise buildings and long suspension bridges. In comparison with the conventional TMD, it is usually required that the applicable TMD to the super long period structure need a very long design stroke for the sake of the long period movement of the mass of TMD. For that reason, the design stroke of TMD should be carefully determined considering the available space for TMD and the size of mechanical components of TMD. In this study, a new type TMD, which has variable friction along the stroke, is provided to reduce the design stroke of TMD effectively with the equivalent control performance to a conventional TMD. Numerical analysis for the very slender pylon with a super long period was performed to evaluate the effect of the variable friction on the control performance of TMD. Through the numerical analysis, it is proved that the proposed TMD system in this study has an equivalent control effect and reduce the design stroke of TMD dramatically compared to the conventional TMD system.
