Apparatus and Method for Realizing Graphic User Interface of The TV

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for constructing a GUI(Graphic User Interface) of TV are provided to produce a GUI system with high performance. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for constructing a GUI includes a system controller(20), a memory(30), a GUI controller(40), an image processor(50), and a scaler(60). The system controller transmits a corresponding GUI index and variable data such that a GUI is constructed according to a user's command or system request. The memory stores basic GUI data. The GUI controller reads the basic GUI data stored in the memory in response to the GUI index data when the GUI index and variable data are transmitted from the system controller to construct a basic GUI and executes the variable data to accomplish the final GUI. The image processor mixes the GUI with a video signal source input from an external device. The scaler converts the video signal source and GUI mixed by the image processor into a form suited to a display(10).
