A Routing Protocol Based on Underwater Acoustic Channel

Wireless Sensor Networks could provide real time in-situ monitoring, but it represents many challenges when applying in underwater monitoring, especially in energy supply.Considering the characteristics of underwater acoustic channel,a routing protocol is proposed based on a minimizing cost algorithm and the protocol of Destination Sequenced Distance Vector(DSDV).The proposed protocol always builds multi-hop routing table through minimum energy cost.Consequently,it can minimize the energy cost and keep balance of every sensor node's energy consumption in data transmitting. The simulation result shows that the proposed protocol could balance the energy consumption of whole network, and prolongs the lifetime of underwater network effectively.
