A multimedia cognitive-based information retrieval system

ABSTRACF - The next generation of information retrieval technology will essentially be represented by distributed multimedia systems. The main objective of these systems is to integrate multiple databases, to provide efficient multimedia information retrieval and transparent services for the end user. In this paper, a model and some operations in our cognitivebased multimedia environment will be given. We propose a new methodology for multimedia objects manipulation. Some elements of a general object-oriented multimedia data model called AMCIRS has been described in [11]. In this paper, we intend to extend our AMCIRS model and to address some basic issues such as; search and query based access, the integration of multimedia and knowledge-based systems, support for dynamic user cognition correction.
