Model Study of Spontaneous Discharge Fluctuations of a Membrane Potential

A discharge model is presented to simulate self-induced oscillations of a tonically autoactive neuron (TAN) of an African giant snail and a dioleyl phosphate (DOPH) Millipore membrane system. In this model, the pulse interval is determined by the accumulated ionic charges in a cell and the threshold level of discharge. The relationship of the fluctuations of these two parameters to the discharge interval fluctuations is simulated.
