Improved Comfort Polyester

A series of polyester, cotton, and polyester/cotton blends and a few miscellaneous types were evaluated in a number of subjective wearer trials by the Gillette Research Institute. The modifications, which were shown most substantially to improve the comfort of polyester, included certain engineering modifications, cross-section variations, and pressure jet treatments. Some modification combinations increased the perceived comfort level of polyesters to a point equal to or exceeding that of a 50/50 PET/ cotton blend and close to all cotton.
