THE GAEVLE PRT STUDY - ANALYSIS OF IMPLEMENTATION STAGES

This study analyses implementation stages for PRT (personal rapid transit) in Gaevle with respect to travel standard, use of PRT, productivity and costs. The study is part of a larger project including architectural design and socio-economic calculations. The analysis is based on computer simulation of each network with travel demand estimated by the Gaevle City Planning Office. 10-20% of car trips within the served area are assumed to be converted to PRT. Stage 1-2-3 include 9-23-120 track kms, 12-27-94 stations and 120-400-1700 vehicles with ride-sharing. The investment is 330-700-2900 MSEK giving trip costs in the interval SEK 6-14 corresponding to SEK 1.30-2.10 per passenger kilometre. (A)
