Performance of diversity systems with 2 and 4 transmit antennas

We investigate the principles of existing 2 transmit antenna systems and then introduce two new transmit antenna diversity configurations for 4-transmit antenna systems. The bit error rate performances of the proposed systems are obtained. We show that by using two more antennas and the same total transmit power, diversity gains of up to 5 dB can be achieved over 2-transmit antenna systems.
