Implementation of transmitarray antenna concept by using aperture-coupled microstrip patches

A transmitarray antenna combining the features of lens and phased array antenna is presented. An aperture-coupled microstrip patch with a tuning stub as a radiating element is proposed. A 360/spl deg/ differential phase shift is achieved. The measured VSWR is 1.2 over a 1.9 percent bandwidth.
