ELECTROMECHANICAL OSCILLATIONS IN BULB TYPE HYDROPOWER UNIT

The paper presents the results of studying the specific problems that occurred during the exploitation of two bulb generators, and the methods for solving them. The paper focuses particularly on one group of many problems, which were more pronounced on only one of the two hydropower units, and these is electromechanical oscillations of the unit which significantly depend on the operating point of the drive. The resulting problems have stimulated the user to install several sensors into the generator itself, thus enabling the measuring of the otherwise, in other generators non-measurable values (air gap width, air gap flux density, etc.) and thus allowing easier and more accurate interpretation of phenomena, as well as repair of the resulting problems during the operation of the hydropower unit.
