To acquire higher performance of direct-operated electro-hydraulic proportional-reducing valve, driving circuit and controller was developed. Simulation software, AMESim, was used to develop the model of the test bench according to construction and working principles presented in this paper. The results of simulation and experimental test, including pressure control characteristics and frequency response characteristics, are consistent, which proves the model is available. Based on the analysis of simulation, a control method, named dual closed loop consisting of current feed-forward and pressure feedforward, is developed. Both the dynamic characteristics and static characteristics are very good.
