A novel all soft switching DC converter with power factor correction

A new topology for a full bridge based DC converter suitable for application in the kW range is presented. The converter features precision output voltage control, power factor correction and galvanic isolation. All four switches in the bridge are switched softly; the one phase arm is operated under zero voltage switching conditions and the other is switched under zero current conditions. The operation and control of the converter is described. A prototype converter is constructed and some experimental results are given.<<ETX>>
