Comparative analysis of major/minor priority intersection capacity methods

The primary objective of this study was the evaluation of some elements of a few methods currently available for capacity and traffic performance analysis at major/minor priority intersections. The comparison included the 1985 Highway Capacity Manual, the British method, the German method, and the Polish method. Special attention has been devoted to backgrounds, capacity factors included, impedance impact, and turning movements effects. Some possible sources of differences are also discussed.
