The Tertiary Structure of Plant Peptide Hormone Systemin and the Mechanism of its Action

A synthetic DNA fragment of the promoter region of tomato proteinase inhibitor I forms a complex with systemin which was analyzed by hydrolysis with deoxynuclease I. Protected nucleotides were found, and on this basis a computer model of the systemin-DNA complex was produced.
