Testing and diagnostics of distribution transformers losses in the presence of harmonics

Power transformers are essentials equipment's for the distribution power system. Over the years, the loads of power system have been evolving in its constructive aspects. These loads present non-linear characteristics because are composed by electronic circuits with non-linear components. Due to this peculiarity, the voltages arise with multiple components of the fundamental frequency, also known as harmonic components, which deforms and modifies the resulting signal magnitude that feed the distribution transformers. In this sense, this work presented an analyze about the effects of energizing a distribution transformer for different voltage conditions, frequencies and distorted waveforms.
