INFSO-ICT-216284 SOCRATES D2.4 Framework for the development of self-organisation methods

The SOCRATES (Self-Optimisation and self-ConfiguRATion in wirelEss networkS) project aims at the development of self-organisation methods for LTE radio networks. Self-organisation comprises self-optimisation, self-configuration and self-healing. Within this document a framework, or guidelines, are laid out that are to be the basis for the development of self-organisation functionalities within SOCRATES. These guidelines describe requirements set by network and OAM architecture, the need for the clustering of radio parameters (to be tuned by self-organisation algorithms) into so-called functional groups, the interrelationships and dependencies between use cases, and a methodology for the development of self-optimisation algorithms. In addition a prioritisation of the use cases defined in SOCRATES deliverable D2.1 is provided. The framework shall contribute to developing self- organisation solutions in WP3 and WP4 that base on a common set of ideas, rules and principles.
