With the construction of large shopping malls, stations, and underground parking lots, the indoor environment is becoming more and more complex, and people’s demand for indoor positioning is becoming stronger and stronger. Since the WiFi node for network communication is generally laid in the indoor environment, the WiFi can be used for indoor positioning while the network is communicating. Based on WiFi-based indoor positioning system, this paper uses the improved single-node positioning algorithm for indoor positioning, and analyzes the performance of multi-user positioning system from three aspects: access user type, single-point positioning system and multi-user access protocol. Then, the effects of the positioning algorithm, the number of transmitted data packets, the communication mode of the protocol and the maximum initial contention window on the multi-user positioning delay are described. After analyzing the different influencing factors, this paper calculates the maximum number of positioning and user capacity of the multi-user positioning system under the condition of different number of Internet users.
