A Revised Implicit Locking Scheme in Object-Oriented Database Systems

In this paper, we present a locking-based concurrency control scheme for object-oriented databases (OODBs). Our scheme revises the implicit locking so that incurs less locking overhead than implicit locking for any types of access to OODBs. Especially, our scheme only uses structural information of OODBs so that extra overhead to reduce locking overhead is little. In this work, we prove that our scheme performs better than the implicit locking.
