In this paper, a packet format employed in optical packet switching (OPS) networks is proposed. And the performance of block synchronization of the burst-ode optical packets is analyzed. Based on the analysis, the length of overhead synchronization bits is optimized to achieve high framing efficiency, which can enhance bandwidth efficiency.
