Comparison of OFDM and Single Carrier Transmission in Power Line Communications

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a suitable candidate for broadband power line communications (PLC). It has shown that the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of Single Carrier Transmission with Frequency Domain Equalization (SCT-FDE) is close to OFDM in broadband wireless systems. In this paper we investigate the BER performance of SCT employing time and frequency domain decision feedback equalization techniques in PLC.
