Landscape Pattern of Taishan Mountain and Its Spatio-Temporal Variation

Based on landsat TM images in the years 1986 and 2001, the spatial and temporal variation of landscape pattern were studied with the aids of 3S techniques in Taishan Mountain, Shandong province. The result indicated that the anthropogenic disturbances was the basic factor that led to the significant change of landscape pattern during the past fifteen years. The plantation of conifer forest in the late 1980's and human disturbances increased the landscape diversity in the whole region and enhanced the fragmentation of the landscape in the parts of the area. The result also indicated that landscape pattern has apparent spatial and temporal variation. The landscape diversity changed obviously with the altitude increases.
