lectrical sources of low voltage levels (such as fuel cells, solar cells, storage batteries) are used in electrical space and terrestrial systems as power sources. The discrete low-level voltage sources are connected in series to obtain the desired voltage level. Some of these systems incorporate DC/AC inverters to handle their AC load. The sinusoidal waveshape output of the inverter can be produced in a conventional manner, i.e., by converting the total DC input to total AC output voltage. A different scheme (see Figure 1) was proposed I in which the sinewave was synthesized by the voltage sources
